Esther Wojcicki

Esther Wojcicki is a leader in the Blending Learning space, teaching science through augmented reality. She wrote the book Moonshots in Education: Launching Blended Learning in the Classroom.

Wojcicki believes that all students deserve to be taught in a way that enriches their minds, unlocks their potential and provides them with lifelong skills, which means giving them control of at least 20% of their learning in the school day. Her kids are empowered to become doers, investigators and problem solvers, a process that enhances their critical thinking and business skills.

Intimately involved with Google and GoogleEdu since its inception, she was one of the leaders in setting up the Google Teacher Academy and remains a guiding force.

She received the California Teacher of the Year award in 2002 and the Gold Key by Columbia Scholastic Press Association, is a Board member of the Alliance for Excellent Education, serves on the board of Newseum, and is former Chair of Creative Commons.

Wojcicki has been a consultant for the US Department of Education, The United Nations, Hewlett Foundation, Carnegie Foundation for Advancement of Teaching, Google, Silicon Valley Education Foundation and Time Magazine Education, and has honorary doctorates from Palo Alto University and Rhode Island School of Design.
